Vairamuthu is the veteran poet and lyricist who is active in Tamil cinema for so many decades. He is a recipient of various awards including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, and Sahitya Academy Award for his novel ‘Kallikattu Ithikasam’ as well as being a seven-time winner of the National Film Awards. He has collaborated with big people like Rahman, Mani Ratnam, Shankar, and others. He, who is aged 65 was charged with sexual harassment allegations now.
Apparently, a singer who wanted to be anonymous has opened up about the time when Vairamuthu harassed her sexually at his home. Popular singer Chinmayi received the story on her Twitter profile and she shared it to the public. In her story, the survivor said that she is of his granddaughter’s age but he still tried to molest her which created a lot of trauma
Chinmayi supported the survivor and shared her story by adding, “The industry knows; the men know. #TimesUp The time is bloody up.”
