The refreshingly colorful flick, Naku Penta Naku Taka, directed by Vayalar Madhavankutty and starring Indrajith and Bhama is slated for release on June 13, according to sources. The film which has a rather unique and colorful premise set in Africa no less, had released its trailer earlier this month.
From what we have been able to gather so far, the beginning of the story is set on a betrayal. Indrajith marries Bhama under the pretext that he works in the US, and it is after they are hitched, on a supposed ‘layover’ in Africa on the way to the States that he reveals to his new bride that he works there. A fight follows between the couple. Now, so far is clear from the trailer with regard to the details of the plot… but that’s just a small part of it.
The trailer moves on to shades of beauty, nature, danger, romance, action and possible criminal element – all of which the newlyweds have to face in a strange land.
Shankar, Murali Gopy and others form the rest of the cast. Gopi Sunder has composed the tunes for the flick which is being produced by Gokulam Gopalan.
The only other movie in recent Mollywood history to have a similar style of narrative would have been Escape from Uganda, but this seems more like a rich and entertaining dish with the right mix of commercial and human elements. One would expect nothing less from a film titled ‘I love you, I want you’ (translated meaning)…
Indrajith’s other upcoming project would be Angels where he is to play a cop and Bhama has the challenging task of playing a pregnant 15 year old ahead of her in Ottamandaram, written by Ajay Muthana. The young starlet is already on a weight loss plan for the task.
