Yes, reports rolling in indicate that Mohanlal is once again venturing in to Bollywood, this time as an Intelligence Bureau Officer!
The movie in question will be directed by Sanjay Tripathi and will be titled Escape to Nowhere. It is based on a book by the same name written by Amar Bhooshan. Sanjay made his debut in Bollywood with the acclaimed movie Club 60 starring Farook Sheik, Satish Shah and Sarika.
The director revealed his plans to make a cinematic adaptation of the book and stated that if things go as planned, Mohanlal will be tackling one of the lead roles in the flick! The Universal Star or his publicity team are yet to comment on this.
Previously Mohanlal had of course appeared in Bollywood films like Company and Aag, both directed by Ram Gopal Varma.
Currently Mohanlal has multiple movies on his plate in Mollywood. He will be starring in a yet untitled film to be directed by actor turned critically acclaimed director Madhupal, Laila Oh Laila directed by Joshiy and another yet untitled one by Sathyan Anthikkad, along with Manju Warrier.
His upcoming flicks are Peruchazhi and Rasam. There was a rumour a few weeks back that he was also approached to star in a Hollywood film titled Billion Dollar Raja, though nothing more has been heard about this.
So it seems Lalettan is hot property now and his star value remains undiminished after decades in the business.
The actor was hospitalized yesterday due to severe leg pain but was discharged pretty soon and was ordered bed rest. He is suffering from spondylitis, according to the doctors, and he had refused to get treatment before due to his busy schedule.
Hope he recovers soon and the fans get to see the Complete Actor on the big screens more and more..
