With his acting caliber deemed as natural and one of the bests, Manoj Bajpayee is trying hand at something he has never done before. It is a first for Manoj to play the role of a Gay Professor, in Hansal Mehta’s next directorial, titled Aligarh. The film is based on a true story of a Professor who lost his job because of his sexual orientation. Manoj’s look from the film is out and he looks every bit in his character.
Sporting a grey avatar, Manoj has grey hair and an unkempt grey beard, and seems to be lost in his own thoughts. He does look like a professor and is seen clinging to his belongings in a brown suit. Talking about his look, Hansal Mehta sheds light upon and says, “We wanted the first look of Manoj’s character to be impactful and create just the right amount of curiosity amongst the audience. Manoj is a fantastic actor and he embodies the trials and tribulations that his character in the film goes through. I’m extremely happy for the way the film is turning out”.
Producer Sandeep Singh adds, “This film is based on a true life incident. One that has left a deep impact on people and we wanted to achieve the same with the first look of Manoj’s character. The film is turning out wonderfully and we really hope that with this look, audiences can see what we’ve been seeing. This is just one of the many aspects of the film and we are eager to give the audience more glimpses into our film gradually.”
The film is going to release later this year and will also have Rajkumar Rao in a pivotal role. This will be the third time Rajkumar and Hansal Mehta are coming together for a movie, after successful outings like Shahid and Citylights. Rajkumar’s look would be out soon and we just can’t wait to lay eyes upon his first glimpses!
