Unbelievably, actor Mammootty was not allowed to vote this year! Not to worry – there were no bad guys in this story. The actor’s name was just not on the voter’s list.
This came as quite a shock to Mammootty who showed up to vote, as he does each year and found out to his dismay that he couldn’t. Though he currently lives in Panampally Nagar, Ernakulam, his I.D. is from a different address in Gandhinagar. However, the actor had voted in the same place last time around.
Mollywood’s own ‘Mammookka’ is a strong supporter of the left party, although he slams down rumours consistently that he would be their candidate or that he has any plans to enter into politics as of now.
It seems the lawyer turned actor who has a strong sense of civic pride will have to witness the elections this year, even after coming out openly in support of fellow actor and president of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) , Inncocent who is the candidate this year for the left from the Chalakkudy constituency.
There is a silver lining, however, for the Megastar – his ‘mega flick’ Gangster which seems to be getting a lot of worthy attention these days, comes out tomorrow on the 11th internationally.
Time to cheer up, Mammookka!
