Mammootty, after all, is known for essaying a variety of characters with diverse backgrounds and accents – from Rajamanikyam to Kunjachan, the actor sure knows how to pull off the entertaining aspects of the cultural stereotypes in effortless manner. His upcoming flick Manglish too, has him playing a fish merchant from Kochi with a dialect to go with it.
But of all of them, he is known for his quintessential ‘Achayan’ personas which he has so amazingly and naturally played in many movies, with his characters ranging from the flamboyant to the ordinary.
The film in question here however will be launching only in September and will be aiming for a Christmas release according to reports. Milan Jaleel is all set to produce this popcorn entertainer and Ratheesh Vega will compose the tunes. The cast and the rest of the crew are not known at this point.
It’s good to know that Mammukka hasn’t given up on his mass masala flicks after the string of, shall we say ‘less than desirable’ performances his last few movies have had. The megastar, as always, is looking to re invent himself over and over with diverse roles, regardless of which genre they fall in.
For example, his next release Munnariyippu looks and feels like a serious drama/thriller, while the other project he is currently involved in, Rajadhi Raja, starring opposite Raai Lakshmi, gives off more of a fun family film vibe.
Whatever the case maybe, it’s pretty safe to arrive at one conclusion – the beloved hero is busier than ever!
