Well, the show that was well laughed at even before its first episode, took off in the most dramatic fashion ever. The very fake Reema Lamba aka Mallika Sherawat, as known to the film world, made an entrée into the first episode on a yellow scooter, coupled with dubious looks, desperate lip job and false proclamations in the name of women empowerment. The Bachelorette India is a TV show of Mallika’s ‘Swayamvar’. The lady in question will choose among the most ‘deserving contestants’ from the show to be her ‘leading man’. Mallika has not grown a day wiser yet. Rolling those Rs in the word, ‘Worrld’, she gave Rohit Roy, the host, a heads up on why she wants to do this – choose a man from a reality show. She rounded it off stating that she is contributing to women empowerment! My bad! Now, what did I miss? There was a charade of all kinds of suitors, dressed both in tacky and the classy, vying to get her attention. Cheesy pick up lines, cutting the name on hand, scaring the hell out of the lady love, were all a part of this cacophony in Telly world. Beating the ‘quality’ of ‘Rakhi ka Swayamvar’, The Bachelorette India gives you a peep into the phony realizations of unreal personalities. Now, if you have nothing else to do but kill time almost over anything, tune into the show and see for yourself.
