Malayalam film director Rajesh Pillai has passed away today morning at a private hospital in Kochi while undergoing treatment.
An official at the hospital has confirmed the death of the filmmaker at 11:45 am. As pre reports, the 41 year old filmmaker was admitted to the hospital on 25th Feb and was immediately put on the ventilator. He had been suffering from liver cirrhosis for very long time and was hospitalized several times in the last few months.
Rajesh is said to have lived with only one passion, cinema. He is known for making critically acclaimed and commercially successful Malayalam films such as “Traffic” and “Mili”.
Although his health was deteriorating, he postponed his operation to complete his latest film “Vettah”, which released to positive reviews on 26th Feb, yesterday.
