Music turned filmmaker RP Patnaik, whose latest directorial ‘Manalo Okadu’ is gearing up for release on 4th November, has made some subtle yet attention worthy comments against fellow music director Gopi Sunder.
It is known that Gopi Sunder has scored music for Nani’s latest release ‘Majnu’. RP Patnaik commented that the music of ‘Majnu’ was good but he claimed that he would have done a much better job by adding his style to a romantic comedy like Majnu. He, however, said that Gopi Sunder had done a decent job.
When asked about the current crop of music directors, Patnaik talked good about only Devi Sri Prasad. “Thaman SS and Anoop Rubens give good tunes, but they use auto tuners for singers, which decreases the impact of the singer’s voice,” RP complained.
Even though he has turned to filmmaking, RP extended his wish to score music for films of others.
