Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming mega flick Lingaa is always a topic of much interest among fans and the entertainment media is only all too happy to provide them with the necessary updates. And in that spirit here’s the latest on the movie!
Lingaa, which has two portions with regard to the storyline – one set in the 1940s and the other in the present day – is being filmed therefore at multiple locations. The cast and crew were in the process of filming one such schedule in and around Hyderabad for the past two months, with the director K S Ravikumar and Rajini setting up camp in the city.
Sonakshi Sinha, one of the female leads in the movie, shot her part here. The actress had been thrilled with the reception and treatment she got at the hands of the crew and cast. This is her entry in to the southern film industry.
Now that that portion of the movie has been shot, the team plans to shoot the next schedule in Chennai. So they will be heading there after taking a break of two days.
The Hyderabad schedule, which also involved filming in some village areas in the Ranga Reddy District, was eventful albeit with a few mishaps along the way. Apart from the false rumour about the Superstar’s failing health and fainting spell that spread like wildfire, there was also an incident with some of the locals, who staged a protest complaining the crew were polluting their water source.
However, that matter was settled without much of a furore.
Anushka Shetty, the second female lead in the movie, will join the sets at Chennai. She is there currently shooting for the Gautham Menon – Ajith flick. Sources say the actress will be juggling the two movies, moving from one location to the next, as and when needed.
While the Ajith movie is aiming for a Diwali release, Lingaa’s release date has already been set at December 12th, 2014. It is the birthday of the Superstar.
