Srinath Rajendran’s Koothara, now notable for its extended cameo appearance by Mohanlal, in what looks and feels like a very unique role, has released its official full length trailer!
Yes, the movie, which stars three rising talents Bharath, Sunny Wayne and Tovino Thomas in the lead, tells the story of three young students who live a colorful college life with some interesting characters and their lovely girlfriends played by Bhavana, Janani Iyer and Gauthami Nair.
The trailer, which is in the form a children’s tale being narrated by a father to a son, with the visuals of the movie being played out in sequence, speaks of a tale of three young princes, a villainous king, an injustice done to them and an incarnation of God who swoops in to hand out justice and save the day.
The three young princes – our three stars – are named Kubrin, Tharun and Ram in the movie… get it? The first sounds of each name put together reads ‘Koo-tha-Ra’!
And the incarnation? Of course, the trailer – at this point of the narration – shows a very rugged and weathered looking Mohanlal on the high seas, standing stout at the helm of his boat looking pretty awesome and intimidating with his matted hair and thick beard.
Lal speaks in a very distinct Malabari dialect in this sneak peek.
Though the trailer doesn’t make clear any of the details of the plot or pretty much any crucial event, it does look visually stunning and pretty intriguing.
So with the movie releasing soon, guess we’ll have to wait and see what’s what with this one.
The story and screen play were written by Vini Vishwa Lal and the flick is being produced by Shahul Hameed Marikkar under the banner of the company Marikkar Productions.
