It was on April 9th that the makers of the movie met and discussed a possible selection of release dates between May 1 – May 10. Although Superstar Rajnikanth’s own PR team divulged the misinformed release day via a tweet, sources have now confirmed the real deal.
Kochadaiiyaan is a fictional historical epic based loosely on the real ancient Pandya King Kochadaiiyaan Ranadheeran, presented as a photorealistic, 3d animated flick – the first of its kind in the Indian industry by far.
The budget of this monster of a movie was around Rs. 125 crores and it was produced by Eros International. The director is none other than Rajni’s daughter, Soundarya Ashwin.
Rajni portrays triple roles in the movie and the lead female part is played by Bollywood star Deepika Padukone.
The music was composed by the masterful A R Rahman and the supporting cast includes Jackie Shroff, Shobhana, Nasser and others.
Fans around the world keenly wait for the big day which, again, is – that’s right folks –May 9th.
