Yes, the students of many colleges and schools across the state have come out in support and have taken a pledge to stand by the ‘King of Chennai’ in case his upcoming movie runs in to trouble. You know who we are talking about, right?
The King of Chennai, is of course, the affectionate nickname earned by none other than Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay. With the protests going on about his soon to be released flick Kaththi and some voices banding together to get it banned, it must be a relief for the team behind the movie to get the support of the students in mass numbers.
Vijay enjoys a huge fan following among the student community and this time, it looks like it may come in handy for the superstar.
Though the protesters claim an alleged connection between the production company Lyca, that has funded the movie, and the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, Vijay and ARM have denied this repeatedly.
Vijay’s often vocal support of Tamils and his recent heartfelt speech reprimanding the Sri Lankan Government for their insulting remarks against Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha, have earned him sufficient respect among the Tamil youth also.
So only days ahead will tell which way this battle will go…
Meanwhile, Kaththi’s audio is shaping up well or so says a very excited Anirudh Ravichander, the composer for the flick.
This is what he tweeted:
Thrilled with the way the album of #Kaththi is shaping up.. Cant wait for you guys to hear it.. September 2014 :)
So, what does the future hold for this highly anticipated flick, one wonders. Kaththi stars Samantha in the female lead, and has Bollywood star Neil Nithin Mukesh playing the baddie. Vijay stars inn dual roles.
The film has been directed by AR Murugadoss.
