Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Killing Veerappan’ that is based on the real-life events of Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan is all set to release on 11th of December.

This film has the backdrop of ‘Operation Cocoon,’ that hunts down Veerappan, and other smugglers were shot in the Sathyamangalam forests. Sandalwood hero Shivaraj Kumar plays the role of a cop who kills Veerappan in this docudrama thriller film. Shivaraj is the son of Late Rajkumar, who was kidnapped by Veerappan in 2000.
Killing Veerappan is primarily a Kannada film that is being dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Muthulakshmi, the wife of Veerappan, objected this film release as Ram Gopal Varma said that Killing Veerappan will only release in Hindi and not in another language.
After few allegations and agitations from Muthulakshmi, Ram Gopal Varma finally settled the issue with her who later agreed to release the film all four languages.
