Contrary to the reports that Deepika Padukone will play the role of the leading lady in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next love story, Katrina Kaif has now been officially roped in to play the heroine opposite Ranveer Singh.
Bhansali, who approached Deepika first, could not get her to finalise for the role as Deepika cited date issues with Shuddhi, her current film under production. Later the role went to Katrina Kaif who agreed to the project.
This will be the first time Ranveer Singh will be paired with Katrina Kaif. The audience will sure love to test this pair on screen after many successful combinations in the past. Deepika and Ranveer sizzled on screen in Bhansali’s Ram Leela, and one wonders if this pair surpasses the earlier one in Bajirao Mastani.
Ranveer Singh, who last worked in Gunday, will now be seen in an exciting role in Bhansali’s film. The two already struck a great connect with their past success, Ram Leela. Interestingly, Karan Johar had earlier approached Ranveer Singh for playing the male lead in Shuddhi but Ranveer could not commit due to the date clash with the Bajirao project.
Katrina, who is basking under the glory of successful films and big tickets, will sure want to win over with a Bhansali film. What more, she will be interestingly romancing her current boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend’s present rumoured Beau!!
While we know that this can create quite a stir among the stars in question, we sure hope to see that Ranveer Katrina pairing on the silver screen.
