Yes the first look poster of the highly anticipated AR Murugadoss – Vijay movie Kaththi is coming out today, on June 21, at midnight! This has been planned by the crew of the movie as a double treat for the fans and for the Ilaya Thalapathy himself, who is celebrating his 40th birthday tomorrow on the 22nd!
So, a birthday gift of sorts.
The first look poster will be a digital one and it will come out on Youtube as the clock strikes twelve, and it will be accompanied by the theme music of the movie, composed by the very talented Anirudh Ravichander.
This promotional strategy is a new one for Kollywood, as usually the first looks are revealed in an event of some kind or maybe even through the social media. But this new tactic employed by ARM and team means the views for the clip are sure to skyrocket and there will be countless shares and re-shares of it in the days to come.
Tomorrow especially being Vijay’s birthday, the fans everywhere will be in a celebratory mood and though low key, what better way to pay tribute than to promote the first looks of his next big flick.
The last ARM – Vijay collaboration was the immensely successful Thuppakki, which went on to be remade in Hindi starring Akshay Kumar as Holiday, which has already crossed the Rs 100 crores mark.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu is playing the female lead in Kaththi, and Neil Nithin Mukesh too is playing a pivotal role.
Another interesting aspect of this flick is that like in his other films recently, Vijay is also lending his vocals for a song in this one and it will be a unique ‘love kuthu’ song. The songs the actor sang before in Thuppakki and Jilla, namely Google google and Kandangi Kandangi went on to become chart toppers.
In other exciting news, Akshay Kumar has already expressed interest in acquiring the remake rights to Kaththi!
