Touted to be the fourth installment of ‘Muni’ series and the third installment of ‘Kanchana’ series, ‘Kanchana 3’ movie starring Raghava Lawrence has finally made it into the theatres on April 19th, 2019. Needless to mention that Raghava Lawrence himself has helmed this project. Oviya and Vedika played the female leads in the movie. Raghava Lawrence under Raghava Productions in association with Kalanidhi Maran under Sun Pictures banner bankrolled this project. The movie has been carrying a decent pre-release buzz and the recently released teaser and trailer of the film has created a positive impression on the audience. Let’s check out the review of the film.
Story:
This time, in Kanchana franchise, Raghava’s family falls into troubles again because of a supernatural power. As they dig deep, the family learns that a Raktha Pisachi is seeking revenge and is haunting the family. What’s that story? Who’s behind this? Why is it seeking revenge? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Raghava Lawrence’s energetic performance is undoubtedly a show stealer for this film. He has proved that he is undoubtedly one of the versatile actors in the industry. His exceptional acting skills are a delight to watch. Sathyaraj got a meaty role in this film and he has delivered his career-best performance. Oviya got a different kind of role when compared to her previous movie but she has pulled it off really well. Vedhika as usual has delivered a memorable performance in the film. Nikki Tamboli delivered a decent performance. Kovai Sarala and Nedumudi Venu did their best in essaying the roles. Devadarshini will grab the attention with her performance. The rest of the cast also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
Raghava Lawrence has not only proved his acting skills but also his storytelling as well as script writing skills with the ‘Muni’ series. The third installment ‘Kanchana 3’ has proved the same. Lawrence has prepared an interesting script for the film which is somewhat different when compared to his previous films and succeeded in making the audience engaged. Production values by Kalanidhi Maran and Raghava Lawrence are very high and they have invested decent amounts in the film. Music by Doopaadoo is outstanding. They have not only given good songs, but also good BGM. Especially in the emotional and horror sequences, BGM is astounding. Cinematography by Vetri Sushil Choudhary is beautiful. He has given some sleak visuals for the film. Editing by Ruben is clean.
Verdict:
As ‘Kanchana 3’ is the sequel of the ‘Kanchana’ series, we can see the flavor of Kanchana in this movie as well. The entire first half is filled with the same comedy and slight horror scenes. Just like its previous versions, the interval episode is really impressive. The second half turns out to be serious when compared to the first half. We can see that Raghava Lawrence has repeated the factors that impressed the audience in the previous versions. The climax is somewhat loud and full of violence. Overall, the climax hints that there is going to be another sequel for this film. Overall, ‘Kanchana 3’ is a regular horror comedy with some commercial elements and ‘Kanchana’ franchise fans can happily watch the flick
