Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan always said that he does not have belief in God. Many times in the past, he also revealed that he does not restrict himself to one caste or one religion. He even stated sometime back that he never mentioned the caste and religion of his family while joining his daughters in school. Kamal said this in support of Kerala government’s move to remove the column of caste option while admitting children into the schools.
On the other side, there is an old interview of Shruti Haasan in which she mentioned that she belongs to Vaishnava community. The netizens have started sharing the video and criticising Kamal Haasan for the same. Kamal Haasan’s comments on caste were not considered serious anymore because of this old interview.
