Those seniors, who left the TDP just before elections and joined Praja Rajyam Party, are now looking towards TDP.
Senior leader Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao is all set to rejoin TDP. According to sources, Venkata Rao has not been taking active part in the PRP for quite some time and he may join TDP any day. The others in the line are Kottapalli Subbarayudu from West Godavari district.
The names of Sobha Nagireddy and her husband Bhooma Nagireddy were also doing rounds in political circles that they may quit the PRP. But, they are unlikely to return to the TDP-fold. They are likely to join the Congress.
Recently, PRP president K Chiranjeevi said that the PRP doors were opened and those who want to leave the party were free to take a decision.
However, PRP leaders felt that Chiranjeevi’s remarks were against Bhooma couple. Though, the party invited them to attend the recent state committee meeting, the couple skipped the meeting.
Sources said that Chiranjeevi’s tilt towards the ruling Congress for some time now was also not to the liking of some leaders, who are anti- Congress right from the beginning. Kala Venkata Rao was known for his anti-Congress leanings.
The sullen mood in PRP and Chiranjeevi’s attitude towards Congress were forcing the leaders to leave PRP in search of greener pastures.
On the other hand, the doors of TDP are opened to receive those, who want to rejoin the party. Several leaders from PRP and TRS have joined the TDP recently.
Though, Kala Venkata Rao’s entry would be a smooth affair, Kottapalli Subbarayudu may face some problems as the local TDP leaders were opposing his entry into the party.
According to information, Kala Venkata Rao may join TDP on May 6. He was Politburo member in the TDP and unsuccessfully contested from Etcherla Assembly segment on PRP ticket in 2009 elections.
However, Venkata Rao was not available for comments.
