The piracy menace has engulfed the most awaited Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kabali’ as well.
We have recently seen movies like ‘Udta Punjab,’ ‘Great Grand Masti’ and ‘Sultan’ getting leaked before theatrical release. Now, Kabali is facing similar issues. Film’s producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has approached Madras High Court seeking to remove 180 websites which have ‘Kabali’ piracy links. He pleaded to the High Court to act swiftly before the mobile phone downloads go rampaging.
Thanu appealed that ‘Kabali’ is made with a staggering budget and more than Rs 200 Cr business is riding on it. Piracy menace can kill the film’s prospects and bring hundreds of crores of loss to everyone involved.
‘Kabali’ is set for a grand worldwide release on July 22 in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Malayalam version will release a week later, on July 29.
