The Khiladi Kumar of tinselville is back in a never-seen-before avatar and in his tow we spot the lady we all have fallen in love post The LunchBox, Nimrat Kaur. The two have come together for a very different film titled, ‘Airlift’. It is helmed by Raja Menon and the film just went on floors last Saturday.
The two stars are spotted sitting in royal pose, exuding exuberance and eliteness. Akshay plays a businessman, Ranjit Katyal who was the mastermind of one of the biggest evacuation processes involving Indians pre and during Gulf war. And playing his lovely and affectionate wife is Nimrat Kaur, who spends her life in grandiose and luxury.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Akshay’s Cape of Good Films. Airlift is co-produced by Nikhil Advani’s Emmay Entertainment which marks his debut as a feature film producer, along with Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia.
The film is a tale which has never been told before on the Silver Screen and is set against the time of Gulf War in 1990 and how 170000 of Indians were evacuated with the help of Ranjit Katyal who heads the Operation. The film will be shot in Mumbai, Ras Al Khaimah and Bhuj and efforts are being put in to make it look authentic and more genuine.
It is quite an intriguing tale and we are sure waiting for Airlift to make its way to the theatres.
