Jigarthanda theatrical trailer is out!

The new official theatrical trailer for Jigarthanda, starring Siddharth and Lakshmi Menon, is out and it is unique to say the least.

Jigarthanda theatrical trailer

The majority of the roughly 1 minute 45 second trailer is a song sequence interspersed with a few key dialogues that give us the flavour of the film and a some scenes of out and out violence. But do not worry, there is certainly a vibe of humour that this sneak peek gives off, so it’s not just wall to wall bloodshed or just another mindless gangster saga that awaits you.

In fact, as shown in the posters which came out a while back, it is a ‘Musical Gangster Story’. Now if that isn’t an intriguing setting, what is?

The flick has been directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and is being produced by Kathiresan under the banner of Five Star Films. Santhosh Narayanan has scored the tunes for the film.

Apart from the lead pair, Bobby Simha too essays a pivotal character along with Karunagaran, Prathap Pothen and Vinothini who from the supporting cast.

The movie had encountered some controversy a few weeks back when it was alleged that Karthik had ripped off a well known and critically acclaimed Korean movie to formulate the plot of Jigarthanda.

He did not respond to these allegations but the movie’s promo team spun it into a clever campaign which had posters essentially acknowledging the critics for promoting the movie.

Well played, indeed!

The film is slated for release on July 25th.
