Yes, the inspiration for the story comes from a news piece years ago in Thrissur about a mentally challenged man and his devoted mother. Jagathy and Sukumari played the lead roles in the project before tragedy struck both of them.

Mohan Sithara has composed the background score while Palakkad Sreeram created the soundtrack. M J Radhakrishnan has handled the cinematography.

So, it is going to be strike a chord in the Malayali movie fans’ hearts to see these two greats in action again and bring back shades of nostalgia from the golden years.

Jagathy Sreekumar is rumoured to be on the road to recovery, slow though it may be, and the film fraternity and the fans continue to support him and wish him well. In fact, it was reported that Suraj Venjaaramoodu visited Jagathy to share the good news upon winning the national award this year. Jagathy had always been a mentor to Suraj and the actor returned the sentiment by personally paying him his respects in his moment of glory.
