Tollywood actor Jagapathi Babu has been roped to play a second lead role in a Tamil film titled "Thandavam", while Vikram plays the main lead role in the film. Later this film is also going to be dubbed and released in Telugu. This is the first major role which Jagapathi Babu has signed for a Tamil film. Anushka and Amy Jackson are playing the female lead roles in the film. The film makers are opting to cast actors who are well-known in at least one of the two states- AP and Tamilnadu.
In several Telugu films Jagapathi Babu played an important role apart from the Hero. Now he is all set to play an important role in a Tamil film.
The film is being directed by AL Vijay of Nanna fame and UTV Motion Pictures is producing the film. GV Prakash will score the music for the film. The regular shooting of the film starts from January 2012.
