The health minister and the Congress candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, Dr D.L. Ravindra Reddy, on Thursday described his rival and the YSR Congress party nominee, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a corrupt politician who has amassed huge wealth through illegal means.
He told this correspondent that people in Kadapa know Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy as a proud and arrogant politician and they would teach him a lesson at the hustings. He said that most of the voters are supporting the Congress and he would win the election hands down.
“Jagan Mohan Reddy who used to talk of huge victory margins is now worried about his victory. He is not sure of winning the bypoll and he has no image of his own,” Dr Ravindra Reddy pointed out.
The Congress candidate who campaigned in Produtur and Jammalamadugu Assembly segment on Thursday said 80 per cent of Muslims, dalits and backward classes are with the Congress and they will vote for him.
Many local leaders joined the Jagan camp hoping that he would spend a part of his ill-gotten wealth here but they are now a dissatisfied lot.
“When Jagan is aspiring to become the CM by pulling down the government why is he contesting the Lok Sabha polls,” Dr Reddy said.(DC)
