Actor Manjunath started his career as a child artist with Malgudi Days. The serial that was aired in 1987 in Doordarshan is a popular TV serial. Later, it was also made into a movie with the name Swami and Friends. The actor was also shot to fame with the Telugu movie Swathi Kiranam directed by K Viswanath.
