The two Khans have had a rocky history in life, though they did manage to thrill the audiences as brothers and friends on screen. Though it was never openly admitted, the fans and the media always speculated on the strained relationship between the two.
So it came as big news when the two hugged each other in front of the cameras recently at an Ifthar party, but again rumours and allegations that the whole thing was insincere and probably planned in advance took over.
Finally now, Salman has opened up in an interview about his relationship with SRK!
“I like Shah Rukh though we do not get along and don’t talk. God has provided him with success and prosperity and then there are people who will come and bitch him out to me that I can’t stand at all. We are not best friends any more, but are normal and cordial. He thinks. He plans. God has given him a mind and he uses that and is a hardworking man.”
Salman also made it a point to explain why they’re so different. He says Shah Rukh’s attitude towards life is different, and so is his family’s.
“It is easy to take advantage of me but it would not be that easy to trap Shah Rukh.” Said Salman when he elaborated that he himself is a person who lives life on the go, and hence very different from the family man that SRK is.
However, he also adds with conviction that both are right in their own lives and makes no apologies for it.
Hmmm.. such is life, one supposes, and especially in an industry with such strong personalities tensions and friction is to be expected. On the whole though, this is mature and dignified, and not exactly an infantile grudge between two leading men.
That’s the best the fans can hope for, at least for now…
