“I’m Akhil’s biggest competition”, says Nagarjuna

Some people just have it in their destiny to be famous, without doing anything substantial!


So is the case with Akhil Akkineni who shot to fame with his family’s magnum opus,”Manam”.

Akhil who was seen only in a 30-sec cameo in the film starring his entire clan,has impressed a lot of people! Also, post his appearance in the movie, rumours about his debut film have started doing the rounds.

Earlier, it was reported that, Nagarjuna, happy with the way “Manam” was executed, had signed on Vikram Kumar again to direct his son’s debut film. However, those were later stated to be mere rumours and that buzz eventually fizzled out.

In other news, Alia Bhatt has been reportedly approached to play the lead opposite in Akhil Akkineni debut movie.

A source close to the actor says,” Yes. Alia’s name is definitely being considered for the film. But it is too early to confirm anything. The film’s theme and the crew that will be working on it, hasn’t been finalised either.”

Meawhile, his father Akkineni Nagarjuna says, “Akhil is yet to prove himself. His acting talent and screen presence is what everyone should wait and watch. I’m touched by the compliments he is being showered with. Some are calling him as a competition ot Naga Chaitanya. However, he has a long way to go. If anything else, I’m his biggest competition.”

Nagarjuna also revealed that he’ll be the producer for Akhil’s debut film.

Akhil, on the other hand, is riding high on the praises showered on him by Super star Mahesh Babu. Well, frankly speaking, Akhil does have it in him to make it big in Tollywood!
