I’m not a Vidya Balan, says Illeana

Illeana D’Cruz, who wowed everyone with her performance in Barfi, will now be seen in an utter glam avatar opposite Shahid Kapur in Phata Poster Nikla Hero. Illeana states that it is very essential for an actress to have glamour quotient to make it big in Bollywood. Talking about her role as Shruti in Barfi, Illeana said that while she managed to impress everyone in a serious role, she started fearing being typecast in a non glam role. She has always had an oomph factor in South, which worked very well for her. "I think before ‘Barfi’ released, I had a feeling that people won’t be able to accept me in such a serious role because they have never seen me do something like this before. After the film they started taking me too seriously and I didn’t like it. "I wanted them to understand that I am a commercial heroine. I have done hard core commercial films down south. I think I wanted to get into that space again," said Ileana, who has starred in Telegu superhits like ‘Devadasu’, ‘Pokiri’, ‘Jalsa’, ‘Kick’ among others. Illeana says that she is not Vidya Balan, to be able to pull off any kind of role, and cannot even near comparison with her great acting.

Rajkumar Santoshi’s comic affair, Phata Poster Nikla Hero is all set to hit the screens this year.
