Salman Khan, known to promote various things, has now taken up the cause of popularising bodybuilding as a sport.
The actor will be one of the judges of the bodybuilding contest — Mr Mumbai — to be held at Vile Parle on March 6. Bodybuilding champion and Mr India Shyam Rathe and Subodh Menon are the organisers.
Says Shyam Rathi, "I want to promote bodybuilding. And who better than Salman with the fittest body today to promote the sport? The event will be on a big scale — and will have a 10,000-strong audience. Apart from Salmanbhai, other film folk like Arbaaz Khan, Rehaan Khan and Rahul Bhatt will judge the show. I would have loved to invite John Abraham too, as I have trained him for some time."
Rathi says he met Salman personally last week on the sets of Dabanng. "He was very happy and asked me if I was organising it myself." Adds Rathi, "It’s a great opportunity for young people to showcase their talent and their bodies. I wanted Salman to judge it as I want the event to happen in a big way."
A source close to Salman says, "Yes, bhai has met Shyam. It depends on whether he is in town or not. If he’s in town he will attend."
