Diwali is considered as one of the biggest festivals celebrated among the Indians. Diwali, or Deepawali, factually means rows of diyas (clay lamps). This festival is important for its association with the uplifting of religious darkness in the souls of people. It is well thought-out the right time for shopping, starting new undertaking, business deals and house warming. On this day, doorways are lit and decorated with Rangoli or traditional patterns to greeting the Hindu goddess of wealth, Lakshmi. It also marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year and in many parts of the country and on this day Lord Ganesha is worshiped.
