Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the only living legend of Tollywood cinema is celebrating his 88th birthday today (September 20th, 2011). Leaving behind an unbelievable impression with his superb acting skills by playing all kinds of roles in cine industry, ANR is believed to be the one of the senior most actors in cine world alive in India apart from Dev Aanand and Dileep Kumar.
Akkineni Nageswara Rao was born in a poor farmer’s family on 20 September 1924 at Ramapuram, Krishna District.ANR has been active in the Telugu film industry since 1941.He has played the lead role in over 256 Telugu films and 26 Tamil films. Several of these films turned out to be financial and critical successes. Apart from those films he acted in many other films, he played the roles like lover boy, saint, father, grandfather, brother, lovelorn drunk, playboy and even God. Presently he acted in Sri Ramarajyam film; in that film he played the role of Valmiki. The film Sri Ramarajyam is getting ready for release soon.
