Yes, Geethu’s directorial venture last year in Hindi, Liar’s Dice, has become one of the most critically acclaimed Indian films in recent times with two National Award wins and multiple Bets film wins in International Film Festivals around the world.
Apparently, the film was showcased in over 50 of them!
Now, the actress turned director has her eyes set on Mollywood and it will be interesting to see what she has come up with. Of course, given that the Malayalam cinema industry is known for its out of the box thinking, she will be competing with some giants in the field in terms of novelty.
The film in question will be shot mostly in Fort Kochi and Lakshadweep, and it will commence next March, according to Geethu. It is not known yet who the cast are and what the plot entails. It would most likely be produced by Geethu’s own production company, given the success of her previous film.
The details about the movie and a formal announcement of sorts will be made at the upcoming Bienalle in Fort Kochi, says the ambitious film maker.
Geethu also has dismissed rumours that she will be working with Manju Warrier soon, although for the fans, that’s a disappointment to say the least.
Who wouldn’t want to see these two ladies working in one project?
