Free training for Kids in Sehwag’s academy!

Giving wings to their dreams, India opener Virender Sehwag on Saturday offered to provide one-month free training to eight young cricketers below 18 years at his sports academy in Jhajjar, Haryana.

An event titled "Viru v/s You" provided 100 young aspirants with an opportunity to bowl Sehwag out and win a month’s free training at his academy.

As it turned out, none of the youngsters managed to get the better of Sehwag, as balls after balls were smashed to the boundary, much like he does when playing for the national team.

Based on their bowling skills, 20 players qualified for the second round, out of which eight (seven boys and one girl) were finally shortlisted by Sehwag himself.

Viru extended his gratitude towards the school children by acknowledging their determination.

"All kids are very talented, if they can get the opportunity and proper guidance, they definitely are going to represent Delhi and Haryana’s team in future."

Asked about his plans ahead, he said, "Such initiatives will not only be restricted to find bowlers but through such events in future I also want to find the next Tendulkar and Sehwag."

"I am also looking forward to invite other sports personalities to my academy, so that they can share their valuable guidance with the boys and help them," he added.(PTI)
