At least four TDP MLAs from Adilabad and Karimnagar districts may join Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) sooner or later. The names of a former minister and a former MLA are also doing the rounds in the political circles in Warangal district that they may too quit the TDP and join the TRS.
Though Both TDP MLA Jogu Ramana from Adilabad district dismissed the rumours and firmly stated that he would remain in the party, the sources said TRS leaders were in contact with several TDP leaders in all the districts.
After the severe drubbing in the recent by-polls in the region, there was a massive exodus of second-rung leaders from the TDP to TRS.
In the recent times, five corporators belonging to TDP in Warangal district jumped on to the pink bandwagon. A former zilla parishad cChairman’s name was also in the hit list of TRS and district TRS leaders were in constant touch with him, sources said.
As elections were far away, there was no chance of TDP MLAs immediately quitting he party and joining the TRS.
But fears about their political future is clearly looming large on the faces of TDP leaders.
Recently N Janardhan Reddy strongly condemned the reports that he would join the TRS. He also dared the TRS leadership to reveal the proof of his conversation with the TRS leaders on changing his loyalties.
Notwithstanding this counter arguments, the lower rung leaders like MPTCs and MPPs were switching their loyalties to the pink party.
