Mani Ratnam’s trilingual film “Raavan” was hailed with a host of awards along with the prestigious Asia Pacific Screen Awards for Best Cinematography.
“Raavan” was released amidst fanfare but didn’t create any ripple in the industry even though it had much expectation. Santosh Sivan, noted camera person has been nominated along with V. Manikandan to receive the award on December 2nd. The failure of the movie did not in any way hinder the breathtaking visuals of the film, which were hailed as poetry on celluloid. The duo’s closest competitor in the category is Sudhir Palsane for the Marathi film “Vihir” which is produced by Amitabh Bachchan.
