The studio owns the rights to the book as well as to the film; hence they want to have a Bollywood remake of the same. They are presently working on to adapt it to Indian sensibilities and add more desi feel to it.
Since TFIOS has touched souls and hearts a lot, with the book as well as with the movie, having a Bollywood film made out of it, might just work in the favor of the Producers when it comes to marketing strategies.
