Actress Juhi Chawla turned 46 recently, with style and beauty. Juhi was one of the top league ladies of Bollywood from early 90’s to mid 2000, rising to fame with some remarkable hit films. 1. Hum hain Raahi Pyaar Ke (1993) – Vyjayanthi Iyer
Marking her very best of performances, Juhi’s role as Tamil girl Vyjayanthi went down well with audience. Her pairing with Aamir Khan was always deemed favorite and they made great on screen pair of those times. The film even fetched Juhi Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Juhi was nominated several times for the Best Actress category with her other films but Hum Hain Raahi Pyaar Ke nailed one in her career.
2. Darr (1993) – Kiran
One of the landmark films of her career this, Juhi played a harassed victim of a psycho lover boy that was effectively portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan. Juhi was shown in her most glamorous avatar in Darr and some of the songs have become romantic classics. The song, "Tu hai meri Kiran" is still the most loved song of all time.
3. Yes Boss (1997) – Seema
Juhi looked her most adorable self in this romantic entertainer opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She played the character Seema, an ambitious young woman trapped in a mean bad world with hidden motives. Juhi was once again nominated for Best Actress Filmfare for this film. In a tough competition, the award went to Karisma Kapoor for Raja Hindustani.
After Aamir Khan, Juhi’s pairing with Shah Rukh was considered to be the next best in Bollywood. They have some remarkable films together and even founded Red Chillies Entertainment, a production house as partners in business.
4. Ishq (1997) – Madhu
Continuing the hit spree in that decade, Juhi appeared once again with Aamir in ‘Ishq’. This romantic comedy also starred Kajol and Ajay Devgan as another lead pair. Juhi played Madhu, a spoilt rich girl madly in love with a poor boy. Once again, her role was applauded as she dazzled head to head with Kajol in one screen with her performance.
5. Duplicate (1998) – Sonia
Juhi’s role was well appreciated as Shah Rukh’s love interest.
6. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) – Rashmi
Her first ever debut in Bollywood happened with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Juhi was praised for her talent with the very first one. Men and women fell for her innocent looks, impish smile as well. Her portrayal as Radha was well received in Bol Radha Bol. Juhi starred opposite Rishi Kapoor as a village belle. Juhi was nominated again for Best Actress Filmfare for this movie. But Sridevi walked away with the award that year for ‘Lamhe’
9. Daraar (1996) – Priya
Juhi played an estranged wife of a psychotic husband in Daraar, who finds love in another man. Although this film did not do well at Box Office, Juhi’s outstanding performance was noticed. Nominated again for Best Actress Filmfare but Kajol took the award for Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge that was released the same year.
10. Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindustani (2000) – Ria
Perhaps her last film as a leading lady, Juhi played an ambitious reporter in this movie. Her role opposite Shah Rukh was well appreciated.
