Exclusive – Fashion Roadkill at SIIMA pre party 2013

The recent SIIMA pre party event held at Park Hyatt may have seen a good turn out of Film stars, wannabe s and media junkies, but the one thing that was really off the grid at the event was the fashion statement the ladies were trying to make. Uncanny feathers, funny prints and bad makeup form some of the many disasters that posed at the red carpet. The ladies simply showed up in weird outfits, disturbingly jarring to the eye, all in their most tried attempts to steal the show. While actress Trisha, Shriya and Sanjana were the only ones who carried out their outfits gracefully with a good body language and poise, the rest all looked flustered, with a fashion that is seemingly lost in transalation. Athelete Jwala Gutta showed up with her ‘friend’ Harshvardhan Rane in a black and print outfit that was somewhere between sporty and chic. Yesteryears actress Maheswari was seen in the most weird outfit of all times – body hugging printed top and jeans paired with purple boots and mismatching clutch – if she was trying to define ‘Retro’ with that ensemble, she is dead wrong. The rest of the women who fall under ‘struggling’, ‘wannabe’ and ‘self declared celebs’ , dressed up in long flowing evening gowns, as if they were attending the Academy Awards night. Heavy makeup, flashy golden tops, unbearable eye shadows – these were the rest of the menu in the dessert of disaster. Take a look and you will know
