Just sang a promo song for ‘Manglish’ ! Many thanks to Gopi Sundar for always correcting my faults and encouraging my amateur attempts at singing ! Special thanks to Director Salaam Bapu for considering me for such a fun song ! Above all, all thanks to my Vappichi, my hero, for giving me everything. All the best Team Manglish !!
Dulquer has sung before in another flick of his – ABCD, which also featured the tunes scored by Gopi Sunder. So this is the second time they’re collaborating in such a fashion, but how fortunate for the son that he gets to lend his voice in his father’s movie. The song is titled Njan Poneyaanu, keeping in line with Mammootty’s dialect in the flick.
Manglish is slated for an Eid release and is being directed by Salaam Baappu of Red Wine fame. The comedy entertainer features Mammootty as a fish merchant who has trouble speaking English but befriends an English speaking tourist girl who comes on vacation to Kochi.
The role of the leading lady, the tourist, is played by Dutch actress Caroline Bech. The lovely actress said she found the entire experience amazing and that she deeply respected and was in awe of Mammootty. She also admitted her new found love for the cuisine and culture of Kerala, while she spent her time here.
Mammootty needsa hit with Manglish at least as his previous few flicks have been commercially disastrous.
Dulquer, on the other hand, had the biggest success in Mollywood history with Bangalore Days. He is currently starring in Ranjith’s Njan, based on the novel KTN Kottoor Ezhuthum Jeevithavum, in which he plays the titular role of KTN Kottoor.
The young star also has another movie, Vikramadithyan, which will be an Eid release. So the fans get to call the shots on a father versus son battle at the box office come Eid..
