Yes, that’s right! Actor Dileep is reported to be entering Tollywood by playing the Holyman himself, Sathya Sai Baba in a Telugu movie to be directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and produced by Karatam Rambabu, titled Baba Sathya Sai.
This epic movie is rumoured to have a budget of roughly Rs. 60 crores and Dileep’s own remuneration will be around Rs. 7 crores – thereby making him the highest paid actor in Mollywood, surpassing even Mammootty and Mohanlal.
The locations will range from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and for Dileep, perhaps the most exciting and longest shooting schedule in his successful professional career.
“I’m extremely thrilled by this project and I’m already watching a lot of videos of and about the Baba, and reading quite a number of books about him. I intend to pay special attention to his mannerisms and such,” says the actor.
Dileep is to portray Sai Baba’s life from the ages of 25 to 85, also making it the most nuanced and hardest project taken on by the actor. Jayaprada and Sharath Kumar are rumoured as essaying the parents of the Godman. Maestro Ilayaraja will compose the tunes for this mega flick and K K Senthil Kumar will handle the cinematography.
The movie will dedicate itself to showing His Holiness Sai Baba’s life, his times and his love for God and people.
