Dhanush will not sell VIP rights!

Velai Illa Pattthaari or VIP as it is referred to, can essentially be called Dhanush’s ‘baby’. He is not only the star but also the producer of the flick. And boy oh boy, are the good times rolling for the young superstar right now!

Dhanush-Not-Sell-VIP-Rights

The film has been doing phenomenal business in and outside Tamil Nadu, officially making it the biggest release in recent months and the craze or frenzy surrounding the movie is showing zero signs of slowing down. The film is a smash hit!

Inevitably in the industry, this would mean the eager producers from outside Kollywood are queuing up to get their hands on the remake rights of the flick, as it could draw in some serious cash with the right casting.

But word on the street is that Dhanush has no intention of selling the rights yet… to anyone, no matter the price. Sources say the actor/ producer plans to take the movie to Bollywood himself along with director Velraj and remake it on his own terms – possibly with him playing the lead again.

This makes sense as Dhanush’s value in Bollywood is growing and he is a recognized star. He is reportedly waiting for his movie Shamitabh to come out to make his plans concrete one way or the other.

The reception of Shamitabh by the fans in B- town would tell him all he needs to know about his VIP remake idea. If things do go according to plan, Shamitabh and a possible VIP remake would gain the actor a solid footing in the Hindi industry.

VIP starred Amala Paul in the female lead. Anirudh Ravichander scored the music and the production company, as mentioned earlier, was Dhanush’s own Wunderbar Films.
The movie is still running to packed houses still and it remains to be seen if Jigarthanda, which came out today and the slew of movies coming this month, including Suriya’s Anjaan, will diminish the flick’s hold on the box office.
