After months of delay, there’s some good news for Dhanush’s fans. The Maari actor’s highly anticipated gangster drama Vada Chennai, which will be Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran, finally went on the floors on last Wednesday in Chennai. The film will cover a timeline of three decades and will follow the different stages of a gangster’s life. While it was reported earlier that the film will be shot in two parts, it has now been confirmed by Dhanush that this will be a trilogy, which has never been attempted before in Tamil cinema.
Dhanush-Vetrimaaran duo has been a winner always. Their last film, Aadukalam, grabbed many accolades which also includes six National Awards. Dhanush bagged his first National Award for Best Actor-Tamil, and Vetrimaaran got two National Awards for direction and screenplay. Also, their first film, Polladhavan, a blockbuster, turned out to be a milestone for Dhanush.
The film, which will be jointly bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Wunderbar Films, also stars Daniel Balaji in an antagonistic role and Samuthirakani. Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play the female lead. The reputation of Dhanush-Vetrimaaran combo is very high, and Vada Chennai has already created huge expectations among the Tamil audience.
