It is

Delhi Belly’s belly tickling tale

Plot:

The story is about three friends that share a rather dingy apartment in Delhi. Tashi (Imran Khan), Arup (Vir Das) and Nitin (Kunal Roy Kapoor) land themselves in trouble when a parcel of smuggled diamonds gets exchanged with a stool sample. Tashi has just gotten engaged to Sonia (Shenaz Treasurywala) and rams his car; first gift from the in-laws, after getting into a brawl over another girl, Meneka (Poorna Jagannathan). Arup gets ditched by his girlfriend for an NRI and Nitin is on a perpetual pooping exercise. Eventually, it turns out that he is the one responsible for all the shit that follows.

An underworld don (Vijay Raaz) starts looking for the trio and his diamonds. As the story continues, expect to be humored in the most unexpected situations.

Writer Akshat Varma and Director Abhinay Deo understand the genre of crime-comedy complete and thus, the story, character and situations seem real and authentic.

The pre-climax shows Tashi and Meneka indulging in a spontaneous smooch but the track between them is never treated as romantic. The final burqa-clad diamond trade-off is accompanied by a slow-motion shootout.

The cinematography is great and the editing crisp. You will never lose the plot even though there is constant mayhem. Almost all the songs are played in the background, never interrupting the flow of the film and blending in perfectly. None of the actors overshadow each other and Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor have impeccable comic timing! Even actress Poorna Jagannath does an amazing job and has a great screen presence. Vir Raaz never fails in making you laugh either, with his pokerfaced expressions.

Delhi Belly is being touted as Bollywood’s most entertaining, original comedies and hilarious.
