Zoya Akthar, the critically acclaimed filmmaker is now back again with her next film. The movie is set against the backdrop of Mumbai Dharavi area and the film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Titled as Gully Boy, the makers already launched the trailer of the movie which has created quite a buzz in the film industry. Alia Bhatt is playing the heroine in the movie.
The film Gully Boy traces the journey of a rapper from slum to stage. The latest rumor in the Bollywood is that the film is a Freemake of a Hollywood movie. Although Zoya revealed that her movie is based on Vivian Fernandes, better known by his stage name Divine, an Indian rapper from Mumbai. But the reports reveal that the film has been a rip-off of ‘8 Mile’, which stars Eminem. The film was nominated for Oscars as well.
As of now, there is no clarity on this and the movie is scheduled to release next month.
