Veteran filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao has the infamous reputation of making sensational comments at star heroes and top producers. Continuing the trend, he has yet again fired on the Telugu filmmakers.
Speaking at the audio launch of Telugu dubbed Tamil film ‘Maanja,’ Dasari said that Tamil dubbing films have been invading Telugu market. ‘The Tamil dubbing rights of even the Telugu biggies featuring Mahesh, Pawan, NTR, etc. don’t fetch Rs 50 lakhs, but our Telugu filmmakers invest crores on the Telugu dubbing rights of Tamil films.
While the films of relatively unknown faces pocket around Rs 1 Cr, the films of Tamil stars are bought for more than Rs 20 Cr,’ commented Dasari.
We must admit that Dasari’s comments make sense and Telugu filmmakers should change this practice.
‘Generally, I don’t attend the audio launches of dubbing movies, but I have seen Maanja, and it is a very good film,’ Dasari said.
