Earlier, piracy prints used to surface on torrents and some lesser popular sites only, making them accessible to only certain sections of netizens. However, piracy makers have now started using world’s most popular social networking site Facebook to spread the pirated prints of new releases. Needless to say, this is causing irreparable damage to the film industry.
Reportedly, a Dubai-based man has shared the piracy print of Dangal on Facebook, and it was viewed by 400,000 members in a matter of time. Although makers removed it later, the damage was already done.
Interim, Dangal has amassed Rs 104 Cr in its first weekend in India. The film has smashed records in overseas as well.
