Case filed against Nazriya’s film!

A police case has been filed against Nazriya Nazim’s upcoming Tamil film Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah in the Chennai High Court!

The case was filed by some Muslim organizations who claim that some of the content of the movie hurt their religious sentiments. This is not a new thing in Kollywood, as a similar incident had happened with the Vijay starrer Velayudham regarding some of the scenes in it, which eventually had to be removed.

Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah, which was actually announced in 2012 and is set to release this June after multiple postponements and other delays, is a romantic movie which focuses on the rich culture of the Indian weddings – and in this case, matrimonial traditions of two faiths possibly.

The film is the maiden directorial venture of newcomer Aneesh and has Jai along with Nazriya as the leads. It is being produced by Aascaar Ravichandran.

Initially, the movie was supposed to star Samantha as the female lead but later, due to other technical problems with schedules and such, she was replaced by Nazriya , who also has quite a fan following in Tamil Nadu.

Now we’ll have to wait and see what happens to this flick.
