Plot
ACP Karan (Sonu Sood) always hinders the misdeeds of goons who have been planning on exploding bombs in a crowded area; these goons are the puppets of Kabir (Prakash Raj). Kabir wants to eliminate Karan who always comes in his way causing threat to his mafia business for which he plans to hire an expert who turns out to be Vijju (Amitabh Bachchan). Vijju was a criminal who shifts base to Paris after spending lot of time in Mumbai, now happens to be back in Mumbai to finish off certain task which involves him to kill Karan.
However, each time it happens to be amiss since Karan is always alert and in the mean time Karan collides with Tanya (Sonal chauhan) for whom he has a liking. Amrita (Charmmi Kaur) friend of Tanya also keeps on searching for suitable match until she finds out that her mother (Raveena Tandon) is interested in Vijju.
The rest of the story is all about how the story goes about and the twist which topsy-turvy’s the entire story that happens to go fine.
Performances
There could be no better comeback for Amitabh Bachchan and all his fans are delighted with the treat they have been offered in this film i.e, watching him perform. His introduction in the movie with white dress and yellow muffler till the last where Hema Malini utters “Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap” it has been through and through Big B all the way.
One man show that has been superbly handled by the superstar with the one liners written exclusively for his character. The other characters played are prefect and appropriate as per their characterization, Sony sood is confident giving out superior performance whenever he confronts Amitabh in the movie.
Prakash Raj as always has given a strong appeal to such an ordinary character which is his specialization. Charmee and Sonal chauhan look cute, charmee has few points gained above sonal with some light moments shared on screen. Subbaraju has done a good job, Rajeev Mehta and Shahwar Ali also are fine as per their characterization.
Analysis
Great action movie and also an answer for all the diehard fans of Amitabh Bachchan who have been waiting for an action movie from him since so many years. His gaudy outfits and flaunting two watches are going to be a hit among his fans within short time, also watching him ride a Harley Davidson at this age is breathtaking scene.
It can finally said to be a film which is old wine packed in new bottle and it is assured that the film is an out and out entertainer, Amitabh has already been titled angry young man. This movie will give him a new name “Stylish angry ‘old’ man” with never seen super cool attitude.
Abhishek here might have to take cue from his Paa for any of his future films!
Verdict
Entertainer for all the Big B fans fulfilling their desire to see the Superstar in glitzy avatar with lay back attitude throughout the movie. A true tribute to “Angry young man” from the director.
