Bollywood singer booked for molestation

Bollywood singer Yash Wadali has been booked for allegedly molesting a woman in Mumbai. The case was registered at Bangur Nagar police station in Malad (West) on Wednesday. The incident took place at the residence of the victim’s friend, where the accused and few other friends were also present in Goregaon till early Wednesday morning.

According to police, “The woman, in her complaint, has alleged that Wadali held her collar with an intention to outrage her modesty. She has also accused Wadali of abusing her in front of other guests. No arrest has been made so far and further investigation into the matter is underway.”

Based on the complaint filed by the woman a case has been registered against the singer under section 354 (punishment for sexual harassment), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). While a preliminary probe is on Wadali has not been asked to visit the police station in connection with the case.

The incident took place at 5 am where the victim had gone for drinks with a group of friends, post a party. She complained that Wadali grabbed her by her shirt collar, pushed her and used abusive language. The police will be quizzing Wadali in the case.
